A narrow administrative purpose
Medical documents can arrive with missing administrative fields, unreadable scans or unexplained shorthand. PDF Guard can help a person prepare a completeness review by extracting text, running local OCR on image-only pages and comparing the result with a configurable checklist. It does not interpret symptoms, decide urgency, assess clinical appropriateness or advise a patient. Those responsibilities remain with authorised healthcare staff using approved systems and procedures.
Choose the fields your workflow expects
A referral or intake checklist might include patient name, date of birth, referring provider, reason for referral, contact information and an expected attachment. Adapt the list to the receiving organisation's documented process. A found result means the words were detected, not that the value belongs to the correct person or is accurate. A not-detected result may reflect different wording, handwriting, OCR error or a genuinely missing field.
Keep sensitive content on the device
The selected PDF or document image is opened by the browser. Searchable text is read locally; image-only pages can be rendered and recognised by the locally served OCR model. The document, recognised text, checklist and report are not sent to an InYourTab database or external AI provider. Anonymous analytics can count feature use but exclude filenames, patient details, document text and detected values.
Review OCR carefully
Names, dates of birth, record numbers and medication terms are exactly the kinds of details that OCR can misread. Similar characters, handwriting, low contrast and stamps can produce a plausible but wrong result. Always compare high-impact fields with the original page. PDF Guard shows extracted text to support that verification and deliberately avoids declaring that a medical document is valid or clinically complete.
What the checker does not do
PDF Guard is not a medical device, triage system, diagnostic reader or clinical decision-support service. It does not judge test results, propose diagnoses, recommend treatment, evaluate a referral's urgency or check whether a clinician's conclusion is correct. It also does not confirm consent, authenticate signatures or connect to an electronic health record. Do not use its output as the sole basis for patient care or access decisions.
A safer operating pattern
Use the checker as an optional preparation step on an authorised device. Keep the original document visible, resolve every missing or unclear item through the appropriate workflow, and avoid copying sensitive results into uncontrolled systems. Download a report only if your organisation permits it, then store or delete that report under the same policy as the source. Closing the tab clears the browser's working session, but downloaded files remain your responsibility.
PDF Guard provides administrative document assistance only. It does not diagnose disease, interpret clinical findings, recommend treatment or replace healthcare professionals.
