When 160×600 is useful

This is a common display-canvas shape. Keep important text readable, leave safe margins and confirm the publisher's latest file-size and format rules. This preset produces a portrait 4:15 canvas containing 0.1 megapixels. The exact dimensions make it easier to satisfy a form, template or publishing workflow that specifies pixels instead of a general shape.

A resize changes the pixel grid; it does not automatically crop the composition. If the source has a different aspect ratio, preview the result carefully. Use the crop tool first when preserving proportions and trimming the edges is better than stretching the complete image.
