Why convert JPG to WEBP?
Make a modern web-ready copy that can be smaller than the original JPG. Conversion creates a new file; it does not rename the original extension. The browser decodes the visible image and encodes a fresh WEBP copy using its built-in image capabilities.
Formats have different strengths. PNG is useful for sharp graphics and transparency, JPG is broadly compatible and efficient for photographs, and WebP is designed for modern web delivery. A conversion cannot restore detail already removed by earlier compression.
How to convert the image

Check transparency, colour and file size
When converting to JPG, transparent pixels need a solid background and may appear differently. Compare the downloaded file with the preview, especially around logos, shadows and fine text. If the destination has a KB limit, use the target-size compressor after confirming the correct format.
